

Adam Cooke is an award-winning student broadcast journalist located in Reading, PA. He is currently finishing his senior year at Exeter Township Senior High School.
Adam’s journey starts as a freshman with the student newspaper, the Talon. His first interview was with Penn State football commit, Joey Schlaffer.
Adam was inspired to get involved with sports media through writing with the student newspaper and Spotlight on Berks Sports. To this day, he remains a prevalent writer and has written over one hundred articles as a high schooler.
Additionally, Adam has ventured into the vocal and video side of broadcast journalism.
Adam fulfilled an internship with 830 AM WEEU, ‘the Voice of Berks and Beyond’, during the first semester of his junior year. Since then, he has worked with the station part-time to continue delivering a variety of high quality content.
Through various outlets, Adam has broadcasted live sporting events in Berks County. He created “Student Sportscasts” in spring of 2025 to create a student-run broadcasting initiative. In the spring, it ran audio broadcasts for baseball, and in the fall, they were proud to broadcast Exeter boys and girls soccer.
Broadcasting Exeter soccer has been his favorite moment and achievement of his high school journey.
Outside of Student Sportscasts, Adam has run broadcasts for Berks Catholic boys and girls basketball, and appeared on WEEU as a talk show host and color commentator on occasion.
Adam was the PA announcer for the Exeter Boys Soccer Team from 2023 through 2024, as well as Reading United AC during the spring of 2025. Adam has also announced the BCIAA Soccer Championships, powder puff football, a number of Exeter’s basketball games, and more.
His greatest work comes in the form of a fully self-produced documentary, titled Ladybug: A Story of Champions. The feature-length film released in March of 2026. You can read more here.
Adam is committed to The Phillip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland to study journalism this fall to continue his craft and passion for broadcasting.
Outside of journalism, Adam proudly maintains a 4.0 GPA and was elected the president of the Class of 2026 at Exeter during his junior and senior years. He is a member of various clubs, including the national-qualifying Model UN team.
